Zimbra Webmail

The Zimbra webmail has been set up automatically when the account created by Information Technology (IT) admin. You do not need to configure this web client.

Microsoft Outlook 2016/365 - Zimbra Connector for Outlook

This is the recommended configuration by Mailguard Support. Only recommended for use as a single mailbox in separate Outlook profile.

If you have a default Outlook profile containing other mailboxes and you want to put a Zimbra account into this using Zimbra Connector, we found that sometimes it crashed the Outlook for unknown reasons. The solution is to create a separate dedicated profile for this Zimbra email.
Or use this method instead (not recommended) - Microsoft Outlook 2016/365 - Exchange ActiveSync below.

A step-by-step guide to set up:

By the time this document is written, the Zimbra Connector for Outlook (ZCO) latest version is 9.0.0.1886.
Pick the signed version (64 vs 32 bit) depending on Microsoft Office 2016/365 version installed.

  • Run the downloaded .msi file.

  • At the Zimbra Connector setup wizard window, click the Next button.

  • At the End-User License Agreement section, tick I accept terms in the License Agreement option. Click the Next button.

  • At the Confirm installation section, click the Next button.

  • Upon complete, click the Close button.

  • Open the Microsoft Outlook 2016/365 application.

  • Select the File at the top menu.

  • Click the Add Account.

  • At the Add Account Setup window, select the Manual setup or additional server types option and then click the Next button.

  • At the Choose Your Account Type window, select Other option and then select Zimbra Collaboration Server option. Then click the Next button.

  • At the Zimbra Server Configuration Settings - Server Name field, type in hm1.mailguard.com.au.

  • Tick the Use Secure Connection option.

  • Type in Username which is the email address.

  • Type in the Password.

  • Windows pop-up for requesting to restart the Outlook, click the OK button.

  • Click the Finish button to complete the step.

Microsoft Outlook 2016/365 - Exchange ActiveSync

A step-by-step guide to set up:

  • Open the Outlook 2016/365 application.

  • Select the File in the top menu.

  • Click the Add Account option.

  • At the Add Account Setup window, select the Manual setup or additional server types and then click the Next button

  • At the Server Settings, enter the Name and Email Address fields.

  • At the Mail server field, type in hm1.mailguard.com.au

  • Enter the username (email address) at the Username field.

  • Enter the password at the Password field.

  • Under the Offline Settings, set the Mail to keep offline to All option.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Finish button to complete the step.

 

Apple iOS - Mail application

A step-by-step guide to set up:

  • Go to Settings.

  • Tap into Mail option.

  • Tap in the Accounts option.

  • Tap in Add Account option.

  • Tap in Exchange option.

  • Enter the email address in the Email field.

  • Enter the description Description field.

  • Tap in Next button

  • Tap in Configure Manually option.

  • Enter the password.

  • Tap in the Next button.

  • Under the Server, type in: hm1.mailguard.com.au.

  • Under the Domain, type in "/".

  • Under the Username, enter the email address.

  • Tap on the Next button to complete the step.

 

Apple iOS - Outlook Application

A step-by-step guide to set up:

  • Open Outlook application.

  • Tap in Home button

  • Tap in Gear button at the bottom left

  • Tap in Add Email Account.

  • Tap in Add Email Account - Outlook, Gmail, Exchange, iCloud …

  • Tap in the Skip button

  • Under the Add Account, enter the Email field.

  • Tap in the Add Account.

  • Tap in Not IMAP.

  • Tap in Change Account Provider.

  • Tap in Exchange.

  • Under the Email address, type in the email address.

  • Under the Password, type in the Password.

  • Under the Description, type in the Description.

  • Under the Server, type in hm1.mailguard.com.au

  • Under the Domain, type in "/".

  • Under the Username, enter the email address.

  • Under the Use Advanced Settings, leave it ON

  • Tap on the Sign In button to complete the step.

Google Android​ - Mail application

Step-by-step guide:

  • Type account: Microsoft Exchange

  • Use SSL: Yes

  • Server: hm1.mailguard.com.au

  • Domain: /

  • Username: [user_email_address]

  • Password: [user_password]

  • Tap the Sign in.

Google Android - Gmail application

  • From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.

  • Navigate to Settings > Passwords & accounts.

  • Tap Add account.

  • Tap Exchange.

  • Enter the Email address, then tap Next.

  • Enter your password, then tap Sign in.

  • Enter the Server: hm1.mailguard.com.au

  • Domain: \[email-address]

  • Tap the Sign in.
