KB2002010501 - How to allow IT admin accessing the computer remotely

This knowledge base is created for the users who need an Information Technology (IT) help by allowing IT admin to access the machine remotely. The IT Administrator uses a Splashtop SOS as a remote access application.

Instructions

Step-by-step guide:

  • Prior giving access remotely to the IT technician, minimise or close all running applications on any screens including the external screen. 

  • Open the Google Chrome browser.

  • Go to https://sos.splashtop.com or cut/paste the URL into the address bar.

 

  • This opens the Splashtop SOS Download page below:

 

  • At the bottom left of this web page, SplashtopSOS.exe or SplashtopSOS(x).exe appears below:

 

  • Click the SplashtopSOS.exe or Splashtop(x).exe.

If this window pops-up: A User Account Control – Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your devices? Yes / No window.
Click the Yes button.

  • A Loading Now window pops up below:

 

  • A Splashtop SOS On-Demand Support window pops up below:

 

  • Wait for few seconds until 9 digits code appears.

The code will be generated randomly.

  • Share the code with the IT technician.
